we would like to thank you for your support and trust this year. As promised, we have devoted it mainly to improving the services and comfort on our trains so that we can continue to be the first choice on the rails for you🧡
With the introduction of 5G onboard internet, average daily data consumption per train has increased by up to 400% and coverage has increased from 60% to almost 100%. This means you can now easily connect to fast internet on our trains during your journey and work, attend online meetings and lectures, or watch films and videos without interruption. After investing in an improved WiFi network, we are also planning to install 5G repeaters, which will provide a more stable internet connection and better quality phone calls while travelling. We are also completing the installation of the ETCS protection system on the last train unit, which will further enhance safety.
Every ride with us will be even more comfortable thanks to the elegant leather seats in Economy Class that we are gradually installing for you. They'll offer better ergonomics, more durable materials and a sleek design that will bring your travel experience closer to that of upper class. All seats will also have Braille numerals to help visually impaired passengers find their way around. All seats will be replaced by the end of March 2025.
We are also improving the quality of service on our regional connections. On selected connections in the Orlicko region and between Bratislava and Komárno, we are testing a self-service bar where you can enjoy free coffee or tea.
In September, our company faced an unexpected test - the floods, which affected not only our train operations and many of our colleagues, but above all many of you personally. I am proud that, despite the difficulties, we were able to maintain train operations and gradually restore most of our services in a very short time. As a show of solidarity, we have offered free leo credits to existing and new customers from the flood-affected communities where we have stops. We hope this has made this difficult situation a little easier for you.
We also try to make travel easier for children and families in need throughout the year. In partnership with the non-profit organisation Znesnáze, we offer free travel vouchers to single parents, carers and families in financial need. This enables those who are going through a difficult time to travel without financial burden - whether it's to a doctor's appointment, school event, job interview, family outing or just a day out with the kids. This summer we also partnered with the Summer for Children from Disadvantaged Families fundraising campaign, which enabled children to enjoy a holiday in a holiday home in the Czech Republic.
What are our plans for the next period? Thanks to a €16 million investment, our trains will undergo the so-called dualization and will be able to run on all electrified tracks in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. Within the framework of the existing connections, next year we are preparing the possibility of ordering refreshments directly in the on-board portal or changing the travel class of an already purchased ticket. For example, you will be able to upgrade your ticket from Economy to Premium class, which will provide you with even more comfort and refreshments.
