Travellers can look forward to even greener travel. We have introduced the possibility of compensating for the carbon traces that they will have on their journey with us. Travelling by public transport is the most ecological alternative, but CO2 is also produced in electricity production, which is consumed by our trains.
How has your working day changed during the epidemic?
Due to the media interest and the need to communicate with the government and other institutions, there was a lot of work. Such a small crisis management test. What definitely changed was the distance - for example, filming with reporters took place at a greater distance. Work from home was also associated with distancing. But in the age of smartphones, computers and online meetings, everything was easy to solve. The experience of finding protective masks for passengers and employees was also interesting.
We‘ve managed the epidemic and we‘re running on the „old tracks“ again
How did Leo Express respond to „safe travel“ and to the increased hygiene requirements?
Travelling with Leo Express was unrivalled in terms of hygiene, even before the onset of the coronavirus epidemic . Our trains have been disinfected several times a day, and we‘ll continue to do so. We also introduced ozonation and our passengers had protective masks available on board free of charge.
What news can passengers look forward to? What interesting projects are you planning for them?

Travelling by public transport is the most ecological alternative, but CO2 is also produced in electricity production, which is consumed by our trains. Compensation between Prague and Ostrava will cost only a few Czech crowns. From the proceeds we are going to have grown oaks planted, which will consume CO2 and release oxygen into the atmosphere. The ECO+ class is also new, thanks to which customers can enjoy even more comfort when travelling.
Do you like to travel by train?
Yes, a lot. It‘s not only more comfortable than a car, it‘s also great for working in or study. It‘s simply a mobile office with Wi-Fi, where you just have to ask for a coffee or something good to eat and they bring everything to you. In addition, I travel to Moravia quite often, and the train really has no competition regarding that.
How do you like to spend your holidays? Are you going on holiday this year in the current situation?
I like active holidays. Nature, hiking, jogging. I recently started archery, so one of my plans is to finally become a good shot. During the summer, I prefer discovering the beauties of the homeland. Bohemia and Moravia really have a lot to offer.
