Railroads Through the Eyes of Politicians And Experts

The rail network is an indispensable part of the transport infrastructure and plays a crucial role in the development of sustainable and efficient transport not only in the Czech Republic. That is why we asked politicians and experts to share their views and attitudes on current issues concerning the future of rail transport in the context of regional transportation issues.

What were our questions?

  1. How do you want to support regional rail transport and what do you see as the biggest problems at the moment?
  2. At Leo Express, we are convinced of the importance of multimodality (interchanging within transport hubs, P+R, car sharing, bike sharing, connecting buses, etc.) and sustainability, both ecological and economic. What is your view?
  3. Regional transport often suffers from lower passenger interest. The problem may lie in the lack of connectivity or in the location of stations historically outside the municipality, or it may also lie in the coordination between principals at the state, regional and inter-regional levels. How do you feel about this?
  4. What role do you see for public train transport in the future development of smart cities?
  5. What was your best experience on the railway?
